More services are resuming at hospitals in the Huron Perth Healthcare Alliance, which includes facilities in Clinton and Seaforth.
Officials with the HPHA say they have begun to ramp up services that had been postponed due to COVID-19, including the resumption of non-urgent and elective surgeries and diagnostic tests.
On March 20th, visitors were prohibited from accessing hospital sites, unless circumstances were “exceptional,” due to the COVID-19 outbreak.
The HPHA first began increasing their volume of surgical and imaging procedures earlier this month, while maintaining bed availability in the event of a second wave of COVID-19.
“At this point in time, we are required to plan in two-week blocks, which will give us the opportunity to increase services in a thoughtful and sustained manner. We have an Oversight Committee charged with coordinating these plans, and this group is not only engaged in the Huron Perth Healthcare Allliance’s (HPHA) plans, but also regionally to ensure our plans align and that the populations we serve have equitable access to care and treatment.”
