Would Canada’s economy be healthier if there was less pain at the pumps?
In our latest online poll, Bayshore Broadcasting News asked if you feel the lower price for oil is good for the Canadian economy.
Most respondents, 64 per cent, said lower oil prices mean more spending, and a better economy.
Some voters pointed to the added expense of high fuel costs in day-to-day driving, while others say they have relied on food banks to balance out triple-digit gas prices.
On the other hand, 30 per cent of voters say the decreased gas tax revenue for the federal and provincial governments will effect everyone.
One respondent believes social services are in jeopardy when governments generate less revenue.
