The 9th annual Kemble Harvest Blowout is being held on Saturday, just north of the village of Kemble.
Doors open at 11 AM, with the opening ceremonies at 12:30 PM and Chair Jeff Mundle tellsus the pumpkins start flying at 1 PM rain or shine.
The goal is to fire pumpkins as far as possible and there are a number of categories including cannons, catapults, potato guns and trebuchets.
Air cannons fire the pumpkins the farthest of the different categories with one going 26 hundred feet last year.
Competitors come from Lion’s Head, Wiarton, Chesley and the Kemble area.
The event has grown over the years, and last year well over one thousand people came out for the Kemble Harvest Blowout.
Along with the Pumpkin Chuckin event, there are lawn mower races at 2 PM.
All the action is just north of Kemble on Kemble Rock road.
The cost is $5 per person, and $15 per family.
