A 40 year old woman has been charged after a newborn baby was left in a hot vehicle in Innisfil.
Police say that around 12:50 P.M. today (Friday), they were called to a plaza parking lot on Innisfil Beach Road in Alcona by people who saw an unattended baby inside the car.
The one month old boy was crying and appeared to be in distress.
The concerned citizens broke a window and opened the door to rescue the baby.
Paramedics arrived and took the boy to a local hospital as a precaution.
The Innisfil woman was arrested at the scene and charged with failing to provide the necessities of life.
