Meaford wants your dog to stay out of the municipality’s cemeteries.
The issue was addressed at a recent Committee of the Whole meeting, where Council heard some owners use the areas as a playground for their pups.
Director of Community Services, Dan Buttineau, tells Bayshore Broadcasting News that kind of behaviour “is embarrassing”.
According to cemetery staff it’s becoming a common problem.
Buttineau tells us those solemnly paying tribute to their departed loved ones don’t need to see an animal urinating on a tombstone.
The issue will be on the agenda on October 28th.
