A 20 year old man from Barrie is dead, following a crash in King Township.
It happened yesterday afternoon, when a Dodge Charger collided with a dump truck near HIghway 9 and Jane Street, west of Newmarket.
The deceased man was a passenger in the vehicle, while the driver, a 19 year old Barrie man was taken to hospital with serious injuries.
The driver of the dump truck was treated at the scene for minor injuries.
York Regional Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them.
UPDATE – FATAL COLLISION – One person is deceased and another in life-threatening condition. Highway 9 will be closed for several hours for the ongoing investigation. Avoid the area if possible.
