Canada’s PM Justin Trudeau has paid tribute to all Canadian victims of terrorism.
In a statement released today, the National Day of Remembrance, Trudeau addressed the explosion on Air India Flight 182 which killed 329 innocent people on board, including 280 Canadians.
It happened 35 years ago today.
Trudeau says it was the deadliest terrorist attack in Canadian history and a threat to our collective sense of security.
The PM says Canada stands in solidarity with those affected by terrorism worldwide and will work closely with international partners to end violent extremism, promote inclusion, and defend peace and justice globally.
On the National Day of Remembrance for Victims of Terrorism, we pause to remember the Canadians whose lives have been taken by these senseless acts of violence, and we offer our sympathies to the families and friends whose lives have been forever changed. https://t.co/LpMSSmfDeo
