The World Health Organization has reported the largest single-day increase in coronavirus cases—with more than 183,000 new cases in the latest 24 hours.
The UN health agency said Brazil led the way with cases tallied, while the US. was next, followed by India.
Experts said rising case counts can reflect multiple factors including more widespread testing as well as broader infection.
Overall in the pandemic, the WHO has reported over 8.7 million cases.
Meanwhile, Public Health Ontario reported 175 new cases of COVID-19 and 11 more deaths in its latest update yesterday.
