The Fraser Institute is out with its’ annual ranking of Ontario elementary schools, and there isn’t a lot of good news in it for parents of students in Grey Bruce.
Out of nearly 27 hundred elementary schools in Ontario — the highest ranked school in the Bluewater school system is Port Elgin Saugeen Central.
It was ranked 429th among the schools tested — with a 7.7 rating out of 10.
That is down slightly from last year.
Normanby School in Ayton was second highest in the Bluewater system at 606 out of nearly 27 hundred, and a 7.3 rating.
In Owen Sound schools, Keppel Sarawak ranked highest at 661st place with a rating of 7.2.
Kincardine Township Tiverton Public School in Kincardine and Northport Elementary in Port Elgin both ranked in the top one thousand schools.
Among Bruce Grey Catholic Schools — none were ranked in the top one thousand.
Mother Teresa in Walkerton is ranked 1370th and last year was 288th.
It’s rating fell from 8.1 to 6.1 out of 10.
Not all of the schools in Grey Bruce are ranked because not enough students were tested at some of the schools.
