Ontario is stepping up its Covid-19 case and contact management efforts.
Today it was announced that an increased emphasis will be put on ensuring all new cases and their close contacts are identified and contacted early, investigated and followed-up on daily for 14 days.
To track Covid-19 cases, Premier Doug Ford says the federal government is also offering 1,700 Stats Can personnel to help out, who can make up to 20,000 calls per day.
This is all in addition to the new mobile contact tracing app announced by the feds earlier today which will be called ‘Covid-Alert’.
“We’re now exceeding our target of reaching 90 percent of cases within 24 hours, but we need to keep going,” said Ford.
More details about the new app in the coming days.
Ford says it will all help boost confidence amongst the public to help during the reopening phase.
You can't manage what you can't measure.
Today we announced a new contact tracing strategy that includes a made-in-Ontario, privacy-first app for people to be notified when they’ve been exposed to a COVID-19 risk.
