Covid-19 public health, economic and social crises’ continue to hit Ontario’s tourism economy hard.
Today Ontario’s Minister for Heritage and Sport, Tourism and Culture Industries Lisa MacLeod announced $13 million will be invested now in encouraging Ontarians to explore their own backyard and other measures.
“We’re launching virtual platforms like Ontario.live to help small businesses extend their online reach and I’m embarking on a province-wide tour to showcase what I like to call ‘the world in one province'”, said MacLeod.
$200 million was committed to the province’s tourism sector at the outset of the pandemic.
