There have been a couple of water rescues in Barrie.
Two people were rescued from a raft on Kempenfelt Bay last night, thanks to some Good Samaritans in Barrie.
As a storm approached the area, police say they received a report of two children stranded in a raft on the Bay, without lifejackets and unable to paddle back to shore.
Uniformed members responded to the Centennial Beach area, and while they waited for the marine unit to arrive, they asked four people on a private boat in the nearby marina to help out.
They managed to rescued the pair, which turned out to be two women, aged 18 and 21.
However, on the way back, there was a report of a kiteboarder in distress off Johnson Beach, who was also rescued.
The 37 year old man was checked out by paramedics, along with the two women.
Barrie Police would like to thank the members of the public for their assistance.
