A smattering of celebrities in the area today.
The 18th annual Crime Stoppers of Grey Bruce Golf Tournament is taking place today at the Chippewa Golf Course just outside of Southampton.
144 people are participating, including special “celebrity” golfers.
Among them are Peter Mahovlich — a four-time Stanley Cup winner with the Montreal Canadiens, and a member of the 1972 Team Canada Summit Series Team.
Port Elgin’s Brett MacLean, a Phoenix Coyotes draft pick, is golfing as well as Larisa Yurkiw, a Wiarton native who is rising on the World Cup Ski Circuit.
Curtis Sandford, a former goalie for the Owen Sound Platers who’s played in the NHL with St. Louis, Vancouver and Montreal is also on hand today, along with Owen Sound Attack owner Paul McDermid and former Attacker Lane McDermid.
The tournament raises money for the Crime Stoppers of Grey-Bruce.
