Both Walkerton Daycare and the Chamber of Commerce are having second thoughts.
Officials are reconsidering their decision to be involved in the proposed Brockton municipal recreation complex build project.
Councillor Tim Mancell says time and money are major stumbling blocks.
Mancell notes the daycare needs a new home soon and can’t afford to wait the minimum 5 years for the new complex to be complete.
Mancell says location was another issue — since the current sites considered for the new complex are not centrally located.
The Daycare is now considering the purchase of either the Walkerton Public or Brant Central School — which will be available in two years time.
As for the Walkerton Chamber of Commerce — the cost associated with the new complex remains its biggest hurdle.
The Chamber now wishes to stay at its present Park Street location — or if necessary — partner with the Daycare on a new home.
