You may see some downtown Collingwood patios pop up beside the buildings still, at least for now.
The current by-law is still in place.Council had to decide whether to repeal the current by-law.
That would mean no patios would be allowed downtown until the new licensing rules that dictate the size and design of the patios at the curbside is approved.
But council deferred the decision until that new by-law is considered.
That means the current by-law is still in place stating that patios can be at the facade.
So depending on staff decisions, patio owners could get permits, atleast temporarily.
One patio already got approval and opened on the May 2-4 weekend.
The new draft licensing by-law which also regulates buskers, taxis and auctioneers to name a few, is expected to come back to council June 14th for discussion.
