A man and a woman are sharing unbelievable stories today after an ultralight plane crash near Owen Sound.
A single engine aircraft crashed into a field around 7:30 PM Sunday southwest of Keady, near the Grey Bruce Line.
Grey County OPP say the 2005 Quad City Challenger was taking off from a small private grass airfield near Grey Road 3 when the pilot experienced problems.
He attempted to land on a nearby roadway — but a wing clipped a hydro line and the plane spun around and went nose first into the ground.
The 51 year old pilot from Chatsworth Township — who owned the aircraft and the landing strip — was taken to Owen Sound hospital but his injuries are not serious.
A 48 year old female passenger from Georgian Bluffs was not hurt.
Police say the ultralight sustained heavy damage to a wing and the front portion of the fuselage.
Members of the Chatsworth Volunteer Fire Department assisted at the scene.
Both Transport Canada and the Transport Safety Board have been notified.
An OPP Forensic Identification Unit will go over the scene of the crash Monday morning to help the police investigation.
