Discussions about clean drinking water continue around the region.
The next in a series of public meetings on Source Water Protection is being held tonight in Walkerton.
In a town struck by tragedy when source drinking water was tainted with E.Coli, this meeting should be fairly important.
The Source Protection Committee has already held two public meetings to discuss the Draft Assessment Report.
This will be the third in a series of eight.
It will be held from four until eight PM at the Walkerton Ag Society in Building #2.
The information is very important for residents, as it identifies and evaluates threats to our drinking water.
It especially impacts anyone with property within the vicinity of municipal drinking water wells, intakes along the shoreline or rural lakes.
The public consultation period ends June 10th, and after that the committee will make any necessary changes to the document.
A second public consultation period will follow.
The finalized report will be submitted to the province for approval by September 30th.
