Sheatre is celebrating its silver anniversary.
Artistic Director Joan Chandler says it’s hard to believe, but it was 1985 when she founded the Owen Sound area theatre company.
Chandler says 25 years later she is very proud of their success and their more than 90 plays.
She admits with all that work under their belts it’s not easy to pick a favourite production or accomplishment.
But she says working with a group of abused women from Fergus early on has stuck with her and has helped to drive a lot of her work since.
Chandler says looking ahead she is sure that Sheatre has a very bright future.
She says they have many fabulous young artists involved in the group who are interested in continuing to expand Sheatre’s work.
Chandler says Sheatre wouldn’t be possible without support from the community and she wants to thank the thousands of people who have been involved over the years.
A party is being planned for this summer but a date and location have yet to be announced.
