Simcoe Grey MP Helena Guergis has been fined 100-dollars by the federal ethics commissioner.
It’s because Guergis — who was booted out of the Tory caucus last month — didn’t report an 800-thousand dollar mortgage liability.
Federal law requires all M-Ps to report such new liabilities within 30 days.
The mortgage was for an Ottawa house Guergis and her husband, former Tory M-P Rahim Jaffer, bought last November.
Guergis says she forgot to report it, she accepts responsibility, and will pay the 100-dollar fine.
