The top coat of asphalt will be applied this year to a portion of the reconstructed Grey-Bruce Line.
The question is, what portion?
Georgian Bluffs Mayor Alan Barfoot — the Chair of Grey County’s transportation and public safety committee — says talks will soon begin to determine where the first round of paving should be done.
A report in the transportation committee minutes of April 22, which were approved on Tuesday by Grey County council, says Bruce County would like to start paving north of Scone and continue north for approximately 12.5 kilometres.
Grey’s rationale is that the northernmost section of the reconstructed county line, near Alvanley, was built first, so it should have the top coat first.
Barfoot says no date has been set for work to start, once the location of the paving is decided upon.
