The Alzheimer Society of Grey Bruce is gearing up for their 4th annual Fore! The Memories fundraising golf tournament.
Executive Director Deborah Barker says while the event goes June 11th – the early bird registration deadline is Friday May 14th.
All golfers registered and paid by that date will be entered in a draw for a gift certificate from Leon’s Furniture.
Barker also encourages golfers to sign up now because this is always a popular event – more than 100 participants have registered already and the limit is 144.
Barker says they still have some opportunities for Grey Bruce businesses to sign up as sponsors as well.
She says they like to make it as fun a day as possible with prizes on every hole, including the chance to win a car on Hole 17.
Barker says the golf tournament is one of their most important awareness and fundraising events – they hope to match last year’s total of 17 thousand dollars.
All the proceeds help the Alzheimer Society continue to provide information, support, and counselling to people with dementia as well as their families and caregivers.
Barker says in the past year they provided individual support to over 475 people – and that number is growing every year.
The scramble format tournament will be held Friday June 11th at the Owen Sound Golf and Country Club with lunch at 11 AM and a shot gun start at 1 PM.
The cost is 135 dollars per golfer, which includes lunch, 18 holes, a cart, dinner, and prizes.
