Calling all teen writers with facebook pages and journals full of their creative writing.
The Owen sound Library is holding its 6th annual Write at your Library contest for Grade 7 to 12 students.
Nadia Danyluk – Children & Youth Services Librarian Owen Sound says the contest is open to all students is Bruce and Grey counties and are looking for short stories 5-thousand words or less on any subject matter.
Danyluk says they are also looking for poetry of any median from students.
Submissions are judged by both short story and poetry in junior and senior age divisions.
Danyluk also adds they are looking for art submissions for the cover of the anthology the written pieces will be featured in.
The art work must be submitted on an eight and a half by eleven sheet of paper and can be any median fro watercolour to computer generated.
The only stipulation on the artwork is it must have the words Write for 2010 somewhere on it.
Danylyk thinks there is a lot of teen writers in the area especially with the resurgence of teen reading in the Harry Potter and Twilight series of books.
Submissions must be in by May 14th and winners will be announced June 14th.
