Organizers of the Bruce-Grey MedQUEST program are sifting through a slew of applications this year.
Chair Myrna Inglis says they have 30 positions available, but have had about 50 Grade 10 and 11 students apply.
Inglis hopes to whittle down the applicants by the week’s end.
The MedQUEST program will introduce students to various jobs in health care, and will help them decide which sciences they need to take in high school to get into the field.
Inglis says during the camp they’ll work through a mock disaster, job shadow with people in the careers they’re interested in, and learn things like suturing, injections, and delivering a baby.
Inglis says there are three counsellors this year, and one of them will be from Grey County.
The MedQUEST camp will be held from July 12th to the 16th in Walkerton.
