Hanovers busiest intersection will closed off for the next two days between the hours of 8 AM and 3 PM.
Along with the intersection, a section of main street and 7th Avenue will also be blocked off to traffic during those hours.
The road closures are necessary while Westario crews relocate hydro poles at the corner of 7th Ave and 10th St.
This is the first phase of a three phase project that involves creating a right hand turning lane at the 7th Avenue and 10th street intersection.
Drivers arent the only ones that will be impacted, local downtown merchants will also have to suffer through the inconvenience.
Mayor Kathi Maskell asks the public for their patience.
She says just like a home renovation project everything is going to be a bit messy but the finished product will make it all worth while.
Hanover has long wanted a right hand turning lane at the intersection of 7th and 10th in order to reduce the heavy cottage traffic volume during the summer months.
It wasnt until the demolition of the old Queens Hotel at the corner of 7th and 10th that the right hand turning lane desire became a possibility.
The hydro relocation project is going to cost the town about 90 thousand dollars.
