A public meeting is set for today on Dundalks’ water supply.
Southgate Mayor Don Lewis says there is no problem with the water, and the town wants to keep it that way.
The meeting will outline to residents where the wells are in Dundalk, and will detail to residents how the town will protect the water supply in the future.
Mayor Lewis says they basically don’t want something like a paint plant going on land next the wells, in case of contamination.
He says the water in Dundalk is pristine and representatives will be on hand from the Drinking Water source protection committee…. to provide information and answer any questions.
The public meeting is tonight at 7 PM in the McIntyre centre in Dundalk.
Mayor Lewis doesn’t expect a big turnout for the session, but says everyone is welcome to attend.
