With the spring comes long walks – and chances are you have seen litter along you long walks.
Grey County OPP has issued a timely reminder against garbage dumpers large and small.
Constable Steve Starr says there are fines for tossing that coffee cup out the car window to dumping tires and even illegal waste.
Starr says some residents try to save a few bucks on dumping fees and dump bags of garbage – tires and even couches in country ditches.
But Starr says there is also very serious dumping when people dump illegal waste such as refuse from grow ops and meth labs in bags into ditches.
Starr says because of this nature if you see someone dumping trash it is important you try to get as much information as possible such as a license plate – description of the car and report it to the police or to crime stoppers.
If you find trash or hazardous waste it is important you talk to your local road authority as it is important for them to check it out and then clean it up as soon as possible.
Starr says litter and stopping the act of littering is important to all residents.
