It’s a place for Seniors to learn more about what is available to them in Grey Bruce.
The third annual Seniors Fair is being held today at the Bayshore Community Centre in Owen Sound from 10 AM to 3 PM.
Seniors Fair Co-ordinator Donna Gorrie says the event was created to enhance the lives of seniors.
In all there are over 50 exhibitors attending the event — with information on entertainment, the environment, service clubs, finances and health.
There are also presentations from the Alzheimer Society, driving from the OPP, financial security and estate planning.
Gorrie says the event is open to people of all ages, whether your a senior or just wanting to learn.
The first 300 seniors will receive a special welcome package.
Gorrie notes they also have coach buses from Hanover Holiday tours this year that will bring residents from Walkerton through Markdale to Owen Sound.
Gorrie says seniors today are more interested in service clubs and organizations and being active — whether its doing yoga or tai chi.
Gorrie adds businesses and groups can do a better job catering to the older resident since the seniors population in Grey Bruce is growing.
