Owen Sound Police were kept busy over the weekend responding to a couple of collisions that could have been alot worse.
The first involved a man who rode his bike down 10th Street East hill on Saturday and right through a red light.
Police say he broadsided a pick up truck in the middle of the intersection at 4th Avenue.
The 51 year old cyclist was treated and released from hospital but officers say he’s lucky to be alive.
He was charged with failing to stop for the light.
Less than an hour later — officers were called to the Heritage Place Shopping Centre after a 29 year old man went into medical distress while behind the wheel.
Police say he lost consciousness and hit the wall of a store — skidding along for about 15 metres before finally veering across the laneway and hitting a large stump in a ditch.
The vehicle sustained extensive damage.
The driver was treated and released from hospital.
No charges laid.
