Officials with the South West Local Health Integration Network are better familiar with plans at the Kincardine Hospital.
South Bruce Grey Health Centre CEO Paul Davies says a LHIN representative recently toured the hospital.
The goal was to look at first hand – what is involved in the redevelopment of the Kincardine hospital.
LHIN approval has to be given – that’s followed by approval from the Ministry of Health.
Davies says there are two scenarios – either build a new hospital – or rebuild and connect the medical clinic at a cost of 104 million dollars.
Davies the latter is the preferred option.
The LHIN could deal with approval as early as May – at a board meeting.
He says however – it will take much longer for the Ministry to offer approval.
Davies points to the Markdale hospital, and the on-going process its undergoing to build.
Construction is not expected to start until at least spring of 2012 – but could be much later.
