A huge drug bust on the Bruce Peninsula.
On Friday — members of the OPP Organized Crime Enforcement Bureau, Drug Enforcement Unit, the Bruce Peninsula Detachment and the West Region OPP Emergency Response Team searched a property at 94 Coveneys Road just north of Wiarton, near Purple Valley.
Police located an illegal cannabis marihuana grow operation and seized marijuana plants with an estimated potential street value of about 1.7 million dollars.
Also located and seized from the residence was a quantity of property valued at approximately 28 thousand dollars and 33 hundred dollars in Canadian currency.
Police located and seized two firearms and ammunition that were stored unsafely.
36 year old Jeffrey Turnbull and 32 year old Martha Plotnik, both of London, and and 26 year old Daryl Fitpatrick of Windsor now face numerous drug charges.
The three have been held for bail hearing.
