Films have been chosen and now its time for the festival.
The Silent Film contest for students in Owen Sound has chosen winner for its event and they will presented at the Roxy theatre tonight.
The Director of the Silent Film Ensemble Joshua Richardson says they have composed music for all of their films.
The films that have been chosen are ‘Barbequed’ by Shawn Harold – ‘Guilt’ by Zach Closs – ‘Silent Sorrow’ by Wendel Brooks and Greg Spence – ‘The most random collection of stop-motion you will ever see!’ by Ryan Martin.
Richardson says the quality of the film done by the students in Grade 7 through 12 is excellent.
He hopes to see the festival continue as there are many young people in the area that seem interested in film making.
Richardson says the festivals will feature the silent youth film at the beginning of the evening and the second will feature Buster Keaton’s classic “The General”.
Richardson says the composition of the score is a collaborative effort with the entire ensemble from strings to piano.
