The Colpoy’s Women’s Institute is going green.
The group has received 12 thousand dollars from the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
The organization plans to use the funding to install an energy efficient furnace and replaced outdated windows at its 83 year old hall.
Bruce Grey Owen Sound MPP Bill Murdoch says the hall — built in 1927 — is a prominent fixture and is used for various community functions.
President Elaine Rouse says the grant will ensure the voice for women in rural communities will continue for many more years.
