The doors to the emergency room at the Hanover and District Hospital remain open.
Staffing the E-R with physicians is becoming an increasing challenge for the Hanover and District Hospital.
CEO Katrina Wilson says the Hospital is actively trying to recruit Emergency locum doctors to help lessen the workload and stress of local doctors.
She says many of Hanover’s doctors have been taking on extra shifts to ensure the Hanover E-R remains open.
But she says this can’t go on forever.
Wilson also notes the physician staffing shortage will only going to get worse this summer as the number of gaps in the schedule increase.
Wilson says she is doing everything in her power to ensure Hanovers Emergency Room Department remains open 24 hours a day 7 days a week.
She says Hanover is fortunate in the fact it hasn’t had to shut its Emergency Room doors in about a year and a half.
