Meaford Council has initiated a five year review of the municipality.
The body of the review will be worked on over the next nine months.
Drafts are expected to be complete by December and consultation will begin in the new year.
The five year review is part of the provincial policy statement — meaning Council needs to revise its plan every five years.
Planner Liz Buckton says the purpose of the review is to ensure their planning policies are current and relevant.
Buckton says some of the information that will be placed in the review are the economic development strategies and the waterfront area.
The review is expected to cost up to 35 thousand dollars and it will be covered by development charges.
Buckton says there will be many opportunities for the public to be involved/.
She says they will hold many land use workshops this summer.
For more information on the workshops you can contact Liz Buckton at 519-538-1060 extension 1120.
