Saugeen Mobility has asked Kincardine Council for more than double the amount of money they were given last year for their special transportation services.
Last year, Kincardine Council paid just over 20 thousand dollars, this year Saugeen Mobility is looking for over 46 thousand.
Councillor Ron Hewitt says although the cost is higher, transportation for the elderly and those with medical conditions is important.
Saugeen Mobility spokesperson Roger Cook says the company runs on user fees and municipal contributions.
Cook adds Kincardine paid less than their fair share last year.
Council has asked Cook to provide a copy of the company’s total budget.
Council wants to look at the numbers a little closer before any consideration.
