South Bruce Peninsula is looking at implementing development charges.
Council is moving ahead with the next stage of possibly implementing development charges.
Mayor Gwen Gilbert says they will begin the public input phase shortly.
Andrew Grunda, a consultant of Watson and Associates gave a presentation to council last week detailing what development charges would mean, how to calculate the amount and how to implement them.
Gilbert says development charges will benefit everyone because they will contribute to the tax based projects.
She says new people coming into the municipality will have to pay their share of what has already been paid by tax payers.
At last weeks Committee of the Whole meeting council defeated two motions to begin moving ahead with the charges.
At this week’s Council meeting they voted 8-1 to proceed with the investigation of development charges with input from the public.
