It seems there’s money in doctors and in hockey.
The Collingwood Hospital Foundation says its “Docs on Ice” event over the weekend raised just over 105-thousand dollars.
The event brought about 800 physicians from across Ontario to the Collingwood area for a hockey tournament.
Hospital Foundation Executive Director Jory Pritchard-Kerr says while the event was a fundraiser, a secondary goal was to help with physician recruitment.
Pritchard-Kerr says there were several doctors who expressed an interest in coming back to visit the area with their families, which she says is good news for the recruitment process.
