The 2010 budget process is in the books in Saugeen Shores.
Council accepted the document in by-law form Monday night.
Mayor Mike Smith says residents are looking at a 2.82 per cent tax hike this year before the county portion is factored in.
That’s an average of 28 or so dollars on the tax bill for the year on a home assessed at 205 thousand dollars.
The 38.4 million dollar document maintains existing service and staffing levels.
Smith says it includes major capital projects like work on the North Road and the installation of sanitary sewers north of the Saugeen River in Southampton.
He also recognizes that unlike many other municipalities, provincial funding was NOT cut – but instead increased – helping the bottom line.
