The 2.97 million dollar project to re-do Chesley’s Main Street is underway.
Arran Elderslie Mayor Ron Oswald says traffic flow will be disrupted somewhat but the contractor is only doing one block at a time.
There’s about six blocks that need to be done.
Oswald says there’s signage up no matter what direction you come into Chesley.
Oswald figures the work must be going smoothly and isn’t creating too much of a disruption.
He says he hasn’t received one call yet from a taxpayer complaining about the big dig.
Oswald says the construction is “wall to wall” with the roadway and sidewalks affected.
He says storm and sanitary sewers along with water lines are being installed.
Once completed, some amenities such as decorative street lighting and tree plantings will be done.
