Simcoe Grey’s embattled MP is speaking out, telling the Canadian Press she plans to co-operate fully with any investigation by the Ethics Commissioner and the R-C-M-P.
Guergis tells The Canadian Press the allegations are both unfair and untrue and has asked that they be dealt with as quickly as due process will allow.
Guergis, like Prime Minister Stephen Harper, isn’t saying what the unspecified allegations are.
Guergis was dumped not only from cabinet, but also from caucus Friday, while the RCMP investigates these allegations.
Today, if she’s in the house of commons, she will have to sit as an independent, in the back benches, far away from the prime minster, over whose shoulder she has been seen for nearly two years now.
The opposition parties say they will not let the matter go, even if Harper continues to say he can’t answer questions, because the mounties are on the case.
