Simcoe Grey Residents don’t think too much of their Member of Parliament as of late.
Helena Guergis has been making news headlines in various ways for months — and now has resigned as cabinet minister and has been booted from the Conservative caucus.
It started with a so called temper tantrum at a Charlottetown airport back in February.
Since then there have been stories of aides writing uplifting letters in her own riding and an 880 thousand dollar mortgage without a penny down for a home in Ottawa.
Combine that with her husband, former MP Rahim Jaffer’s recent plea bargain deal following cocaine possession and drunk driving charges dropped, and there are a lot of unhappy people in her riding.
Bayshore Broadcasting News hit the streets to find out what people think of her as their MP as of late.
Some couldn’t put their disbelief and embarrassment into words, while others had plenty to say; including seeing her ousted from parliament and not re-electing her when the time comes.
