A big drop in revenue has Brockton council considering the future of the Saugeen Municipal airport.
Mayor Charlie Bagnato says total revenue in 2009 was 253 thousand dollars, compared with 325 thousand the year before.
He blames the poor summer weather for a drop in airport use. The sale of Jet A fuel at Saugeen Municipal airport fell by 75 percent in 2009.
As a result, Bagnato is exploring options for the airport including selling it or leasing the facility.
Mayor Bagnato says the issue will be discussed at this months’ airport board meeting on April 21st.
He says nothing may come of the review, but at least council will know the value of the airport.
Hanover, West Grey and Brockton are the airports’ operating partners.
