Hanover had a lot to celebrate Thursday night as the town hosted its Campaign Celebration for the new Regional Recreation Complex.
The new Regional Recreation Complex now has a name.
In recognition of a 300 thousand dollar Double Platinum contribution by Parrish and Heimbecker Limited the new facility will now be known as the P & H Centre.
P & H Executive Vice President Alan Heimbecker says Hanover has been very good to his company and wanted to give something back.
As the largest employer in town with P& H Foods and New Life Mills — Heimbecker hopes his employees will also take pride in the name of the facility.
Along with the excitement of the new name — the fundraising committee announced they have surpassed their 1.75 million dollar goal by raising $1,776,227 dollars.
Mayor Kathi Maskell is thrilled but certainly not surprised.
She says once again this community has shown its not the size of the town that determines the quality of life but rather its the heart and soul of the community.
Construction continues to progress well on the 8.8 million dollar P& H Centre.
Once all is said and done the entire project will come in at 10.5 million dollars.
The Grand Opening of the P & H Centre is slated for October 1st to 3rd.
