High School students from across Grey Bruce will be part of a historical anniversary next month.
They will travel to Holland in honour of the 65th anniversary of the country being liberated by allied forces at the end of World War Two.
Chesley District Student Peter McCombie says it will be the third in a series of commemorative trips students from his school have taken part in.
Previous excursions were to Vimy Ridge in France and Ortona in Italy — and all three are sites of historic battles involving Canadian soldiers.
McCombie says including teachers and parent supervisors — 42 people from Chesley will be going to Holland.
He says the trip is open to all students from Grades nine to 12, but it directly involves Grade 10 and 12 history students.
Chesley isn’t the only high school participating in the Liberation of Holland trip.
Students from Grades 10 to 12 at OSCVI and Grades 9 to 12 at West Hill Secondary School in Owen Sound are also taking part.
The schools will visit Holland during the first two weeks of May.
