A home that housed 11 apartments in Owen Sound has been destroyed by fire.
Two firefighters remained on spark alert early Tuesday morning at the scene of the rubble at the end of 11th Street A West.
The fire department first got the call just before 8 AM Monday.
The last flame was extinguished about 10 hours later, just before 6 PM, as the entire building was destroyed.
All of the tenants made it out safely — and one of the tenants is being hailed a hero.
Witnesses say Dave Locking raced upstairs and rescued a neighbouring families grandmother in one of the apartments.
Another resident says she left for work around 8 AM and didn’t notice any signs of a fire — until she drove by fire trucks.
There’s still no word on the cause of the fire — and officials will comb the wreckage for evidence on Tuesday.
