Owen Sound firefighters remain on the scene of an apartment fire on 11th Street A West.
The fire started in the upstairs apartments of the 11 bedroom house on 11th Street A West just before 8 AM Monday.
According to witnesses — resident Dave Locking, who lived downstairs in the home, raced upstairs to save a neighbouring families grandmother.
All 11 tenants made it out safely — but Locking’s two pets are missing.
One resident says she left for work around 8 AM and didn’t notice any signs of a fire — until she drove by fire trucks.
Fire officials are not yet sure how the fire started and have not released a dollar amount for the damage.
But the top storey of the house sustained significant damage.
