Our listeners believe the original verdict should stand.
83 per cent of the respondents to our recent online news poll believe the provincial government should not spend more money on appealing the victory.
One calls the appeal a waste of money and time, adding the province lost and they should “suck it up”.
Another believes the province should not only give up the appeal but also reimburse Schmidt for all his legal fees.
One respondent calls this is a matter of food freedom and the province should back off and let people make their own informed choices.
At least 4 people say they’ve had raw milk and never suffered any health consequences.
However, 17 per cent of the respondents to our online survey believe raw milk is a health hazard and the provincial government is right to appeal the verdict.
One says simply put, Schmidt broke the law and should pay the price.

The raid resulted in a yearlong trial that ended this January when Schmidt was found not guilty of violating the Health Protection and Promotion Act.
The Ministry of the Attorney General is now appealing the acquittal to the Ontario Court of Justice.
