Owen Sound having a bit of a slow start to the construction season so far.
The city’s Development Co ordinator Sandi Parks says 17 permits were issued in February compared to 27 last February.
And the dollar value is almost half of what it was this time last year at 435 thousand dollars.
Parks says however she’s not too worried as the first couple of months in the new year are generally fairly slow.
Year to date figures are off too with almost 615 thousand dollars in building permits so far, compared to more than one million this time last year.
Some of the major projects on the books last month include a renovation for The Co Operators, a new addition for KC Automotive and some work at an optometrists office.
Parks says the numbers should start going up now with permits being issued for the new regional rec complex.
