The opposition parties are on the attack and the target is Simcoe Grey MP Helena Guergis.
Liberal Leader Michael Ignatieff called the Conservative junior cabinet minister a liar on Wednesday and feels Guergis doesn’t deserve to be in cabinet.
This comes after her staff members wrote favourable letters to newspapers in the riding about Guergis, without saying they worked for her — and in the case of one staffer, using a different name.
Ignatieff says he doesn’t think a person like that is worthy of the confidence of Canadians, or worthy or remaining in the cabinet of Canada.
NDP Leader Jack Layton says Prime Minister Stephen Harper needs to take action and shuffle Guergis out of cabinet.
And Layton adds Harper needs to consider if Guergis can continue doing her job.
Guergis has already come under fire recently for throwing a tantrum at airport security in Charlottetown last month.
