More controversy for Simcoe Grey MP Helena Guergis.
After accusations of writing letters to the editor to newspapers in the riding under a different name, the MP’s executive assistant is now apologizing.
A report says various newspapers in the riding of Simcoe-Grey have received letters from Jessica Morgan over the past year.
Morgan is the married name of Guergis’ assistant Jessica Craven.
Craven says she changed her name to make sure the letters were separate from what she does for a living, because she is also a voter in Simcoe Grey with her own opinions.
Craven says she will state her name, and position as an employee of parliament, in future letters.
The letters have taken other party candidates in the area to task, and have also been critical of Collingwood resident Lorne Kenney over his opposition to a federal and provincial grant given to Pretty River Academy.
Guergis has been under national scrutiny after an outburst at Charlottetown’s airport on February 19th, where she yelled at airport staff.
